From a one-woman outfit, our firm has expanded with offices all over Dubai, in Abu Dhabi, and others around the GCC region, and, we employ nearly 500 people.

Having started in residential leasing, we now offer residential sales, a commercial sales and leasing division, property management, and short-term rentals. And every day, we look for ways to bring new and better services to our clients to keep our position as the UAE’s market leading real estate company.

The key to our business is that right from the start, it was about finding places for people to live, so our business is simple, it is about people and their homes. It is true that today we do much more than that, but people and their homes will always be at the heart of what we do.


Linda Mahoney


Linda Mahoney is the founder and chairman of Betterhomes LLC. She grew up in Montreal, Canada and embarked on a career as a registered nurse. In 1981, she moved to the UAE to set up a surgical clinic. Seeing the need for a property agency to help expats in Dubai find places to live, she left medicine behind after 25 years and in 1986, Linda established Betterhomes, a business that would grow into the leading real estate agency in the UAE.

Today, while her son is at the operational helm as CEO, Linda remains actively involved in the business to ensure that her original mandate that of putting people first is embodied at all levels of her organisation.


Ryan Mahoney

Chief Executive Officer

Ryan Mahoney joined the Betterhomes Team in 2001 bringing with his prodigious business acumen and natural skill as an entrepreneur, focusing initially on streamlining the processes that drive sales, leasing, and property management. He went on to give the business a robust framework for the future by establishing a technology base that would maintain the company’s competitive edge in what was fast becoming a dynamic real estate market.

He introduced the region’s first real estate customer relationship management system inclusive of inventory transactions and referrals, and has continued to spearhead a number of industry firsts while serving as an active member of the Dubai property industry’s development.

Ryan has been instrumental in leading Betterhomes from a small business, through the complexity of the challenging UAE real estate market’s highs and lows, into the most significant full-service property agency in the Middle East.


Richard Waind

Group Managing Director

Having graduated from Sheffield University with a degree in Law and Criminology, Richard began his career in property in 2004 at a top London estate agency. Over the last 15 years, Richard has grown and managed teams in sales, leasing, property management and financial services. Richard also spent two years heading up the expansion and acquisition plan of the UK’s third largest estate agency group before taking the position of Managing Director for London and the Homes Counties, running a network of 40 branches.

Richard joined the Betterhomes family in 2017 as Director of Brokerage, managing sales and leasing for both residential and commercial departments. In January 2019 Richard assumed the position of Managing Director and has overseen the acquisition of Ascot & Co. and the launch of the new commercial brand CRC as the Betterhomes Group continues to expand.

Richard lives in Umm Suqeim with his wife and two daughters.


Zubin Firozi

Group Operations Director

Zubin Firozi joined Betterhomes in 2011 as a Portfolio Manager and quickly moved up the ranks to the position of Head of Property Management. Zubin currently serves as the company’s Director of Operations, reporting to the CEO. He is a senior member of the Betterhomes team with a mandate to oversee the company’s operations, including developing, managing, and delivering the business strategy. Zubin holds an MSc in Real Estate Investment and Finance from the Heriot-Watt University.


Daniel Hadi

Residential Sales and Leasing Director

Daniel arrived to the Dubai real estate market in 2010 as an experienced UK estate agent. In 2014, after successfully establishing himself as a broker and manger within the Dubai market he decided to start his own real estate company, Ascot & Co. After a thoroughly enjoyable and eventful five years, Daniel decided the time was right to join the Betterhomes family and in turn make Ascot & Co. Betterhomes’ exclusive villa brand.

Daniel now works as the Betterhomes Sales and Leasing Director overseeing Dubai and Abu Dhabi operations whilst still working closely with the Ascot & Co. brand.


Ben Bargh

Director for CRC

Behnam is the Head of Commercial Sales and Leasing with 16 years of experience working in the field of customer service and sales in both Australia and Dubai. He has extensive experience and knowledge of both residential and commercial properties in U.A.E.

Behnam believes in a customer focus approach as well as creating win-win deals that are beneficial to all parties involved. He understands the importance of keeping clients informed through every step of the process and always acting with integrity and honesty.

Niral Jhaveri has been in the UAE for 12 years and has started her career with Standard Chartered Bank, working as a Team Manager for credit card telesales for three years. Niral joined Betterhomes in 2010 and thus began her journey in real estate. Being a Mumbaikar (she is from Mumbai, India) she has a "never say die" spirit and has come a long way. She joined Betterhomes as a property supervisor and has moved up the ranks by sheer hard work, utmost dedication and commitment to the job, and developing herself to become a reliable leader who motivates and encourages her team and brings out the best in them. Today she heads one of the largest property management team in the UAE consisting of 50+ members that manages more than 5,000 properties.

Her experience, problem-solving nature, foresightedness has not only helped the team but also our clients to be on top of the game in this ever-changing and demanding market. She is an amazing person and a delight to work with.


Alisha Azzopardi

Head of Holiday Homes and Preferred Partners

Alisha initiated her career within the real estate sector, specializing in property management 12 years ago in Melbourne, Australia. She joined Betterhomes in 2014 as an Assistant Portfolio Manager. Through a series of promotions, she handled various roles including business development, property management and currently spearheading efforts across handling the entire spectrum of functions pertaining to Portfolio Management involving Short Term Rentals and Corporate Accounts Management. Alisha always seeks to provide clients with the highest levels of expertise, service and professionalism.


Joy Kirby

Head of Conveyancing

Formerly from a Health and Safety background and having worked in various positions in the UK, Joy Kirby’s background knowledge has been further enhanced after arriving in Dubai in 2008. With ten years of experience in Dubai’s real estate sector, Joy’s tenacity and hard-working attitude have led to subsequent appointments as Betterhomes’ Head of Conveyancing.

Joy joined the company in October 2016 to bring Conveyancing in-house, creating and managing a designated team of conveyancers to oversee all transactions through our sister company Better Plus Documents Clearing Services LLC that is now operating as Clarity Clearing Services LLC. Conveyancing was officially launched in March 2017 to all Betterhomes branches and has gone from strength to strength.


Wassim Abdallah

Off Plan Sales and Marketing Manager

Wassim Abdallah is Betterhomes’ Off Plan Sales and Marketing Manager with a successful experience in real estate and strong relationship with Dubai’s prestigious developers for more than a decade. Originally from Lebanon, Wassim started his career as a lawyer with a bachelor’s degree in General Law and a master’s degree in International Law. In 2006, he moved to the UAE and landed a job in real estate and after a year of exposure into the market, he then joined Betterhomes in 2007 as a real estate agent for both secondary and off plan properties. Because of his impeccable skills as a sales agent and thorough knowledge of the property market in the region, Wassim now leads the Off Plan Department. A strong believer of the “go big or go home” mindset, Wassim dedicates himself not only into selling properties but also to training and supporting Betterhomes new and existing agents with effective marketing techniques. He loves cars and during his spare time, you can find him fishing in the sea with his two kids.

Tom has worked in real estate from the age of 18 for some of the most prestigious companies both in London and Dubai. Having operated through both prosperous and adverse property cycles, he believes he has the experience to offer the best possible service and advice to his clients and colleagues.

Thomas seldom takes himself seriously and is in his natural habit in his kitchen at weekends.


Gemma Walsh

Business Bay Branch Manager

With over 10 years of experience within London’s affluent property market, Gemma’s solid track record in real estate enabled her to take the leap and join Betterhomes in Dubai.

A personable and hands on leader of 25 plus agents focusing in Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah and DIFC communities, Gemma has strong negotiation skills and known for successfully developing and maintaining profitable new business relationships. In 2018, Gemma was awarded as the Best Performing Manager at Betterhomes for being most on target and highest in revenue.

Gemma’s a bit of a bookworm and you’ll most likely to find her with her head buried in a book or relaxing in one of Dubai’s many spas.


Robert Villalobos

Motor City Branch Manager

Hailed from the UK and started his career in 2007 as an estate agent for a leading London agency, Rob quickly gained management positions throughout his time in the East and North London markets.

He moved to Dubai in 2012 to broaden his experience in an emerging international market and again gained managerial and director roles in leading Dubai real estate companies.

Robert is currently the branch manager for the Motor City office with 35 plus brokers, with a key focus to the villa communities of Emirates Living and Dubailand.


Alia Jamal

Palm Jumeirah Branch Manager

Born and bred in the UK, originally from Pakistan. Alia Jamal began her real estate career 13 years ago back in London’s renowned real estate agency, “Foxtons”. Her career at Foxtons was very successful and her top performance led her into management. In 2012, Alia decided to take her career further by taking a new challenge and joining Dubai real estate. Over the years she has obtained extensive knowledge of the Dubai market both in residential and commercial. Alia is now the Branch Manager for Palm Jumeirah office sharing her expertise proving to be a real asset to the team.
